Hospitality
Reliable internet for guest WiFi and back-of-house, POS failover, cloud voice for the front desk, and multi-property coordination — sourced across a multi-supplier network and managed through one desk.
The Problem
Hospitality businesses run on connectivity — from the POS at the bar to the WiFi a guest rates you on. When it is unreliable or undersized, the failure is visible to customers and reviewers in real time.
Guests expect fast, stable WiFi. When it fails — slow speeds, dropped connections, login pages that do not load — reviews reflect it immediately. A three-star comment about WiFi is harder to recover from than an outage nobody noticed.
A restaurant POS offline during a dinner rush means slower service, frustrated servers, and orders that have to be reconstructed from memory. Every minute of downtime during peak service is direct revenue loss.
Each property bought its own internet years ago. Contracts are staggered, pricing has never been benchmarked against alternatives, and some properties are paying for speeds or terms that made sense at the time but have not been revisited since.
A conference, wedding, or corporate event floods the network with hundreds of devices. Base connectivity sized for normal occupancy was never designed for peak event load — and the failure shows up in real time when the keynote presenter cannot get online.
What We Arrange
Guest-facing and operational networks should run on separate segments — guest WiFi for the lobby and rooms, a dedicated connection for reservations, POS, and property management systems. We source connectivity that supports proper segmentation and sizes guest bandwidth to handle occupancy peaks, not just average nights.
A second connection on a different network path — typically cellular backing up the wired line — keeps the POS running when the primary circuit goes down. We source and configure both connections together so the failover is tested, correctly sized for payment traffic, and switches automatically without staff intervention.
Cloud phone systems integrate with property management software, give every department its own extension, and handle front-desk call routing without dedicated hardware that breaks during renovations. When a property expands, phone capacity scales with it rather than requiring a hardware upgrade.
We maintain an inventory across every property in your portfolio: provider, contract end date, bandwidth, and pricing. Before anything auto-renews, we benchmark it. When a new property is acquired, connectivity goes onto the same review cycle as the rest of the group — not handled independently and forgotten.
When to Call the Desk
A property renovation is the best time to upgrade connectivity — walls are open, cabling is accessible, and the property is partially closed anyway. Starting the connectivity review during design means new infrastructure goes in once, not twice.
When a group acquires a new property, its technology should be reviewed alongside everything else in due diligence. We assess existing connectivity, identify what needs to change, and bring it onto the same management cycle as the rest of the portfolio.
WiFi complaints are a reliable signal that the underlying connectivity needs to be reviewed — either because capacity has not kept pace with occupancy, the network architecture has not been updated, or the current provider is simply underperforming.
How the Desk Works
Tell us about your properties and what is currently in place. We build an inventory of the whole portfolio — every provider, contract term, and renewal date — and from there manage renewals, new installs, and upgrades so your operations team does not have to track it. Each renewal is benchmarked before it comes due; nothing rolls over without a review.
When you order through us, the supplier pays us a commission — you don't pay more by using SwitchU, and your pricing comes from the supplier. If the right answer for a property is staying with the current provider, that's what we'll recommend.
