Cloud & Managed IT
Productivity suites, backup and disaster recovery, managed IT, and migration coordination — benchmarked across supplier channels and run through one desk, instead of four vendors each selling you their own answer.
What We Source
Productivity suites are the most common line item nobody reviews: licenses accumulate as people join, tiers get upgraded for one feature, and departed staff keep seats for months. We source Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace through supplier channels, match license tiers to what each group of users actually needs, and put the result side by side with what you're paying today.
Two questions decide your backup posture: how much data can you afford to lose, and how long can you afford to be down. Most businesses haven't priced either until something fails. We source backup and disaster-recovery options — endpoint, server, and cloud-to-cloud (yes, Microsoft 365 data generally needs its own backup) — sized to those two answers rather than to a supplier's default bundle.
If your business needs day-to-day IT support — a help desk, patching, device management — that's a managed service provider, and choosing one is a real procurement decision: scope, response commitments, per-user pricing, and exit terms vary widely. To be clear about our role: we source and coordinate, we are not your MSP. We help you define requirements, gather comparable proposals through our network, and weigh them — the ongoing support relationship is between you and the provider you choose.
Moving email, files, or workloads to the cloud touches licensing, connectivity, security, and a migration partner all at once — and those are usually four separate vendors with four separate contracts. We coordinate the sourcing side: the subscriptions, the bandwidth the migration will lean on, and the suppliers doing the work, sequenced so the cut-over has an owner and the old services are wound down instead of quietly billing on.
When to Review
Seats for people who left, premium tiers nobody uses — subscription audits usually find both.
End-of-life hardware is the natural moment to price cloud against replacing the box.
Whether it's one overloaded person or no one at all, that's when MSP sourcing belongs on the table.
A ransomware scare or a failed restore is the loudest argument for reviewing backup and DR properly.
Our Role, Plainly
SwitchU is a procurement desk. We define requirements with you, benchmark options across available supplier channels, coordinate contracting and implementation, and keep your agreements on a renewal calendar. We don't run your help desk, manage your servers, or answer your 2 a.m. outage call — the providers we help you choose do that, under contracts you've actually compared.
Cloud decisions also lean on the rest of the stack — the connectivity that carries the workloads and the security controls around them — which is why one desk across categories is the point.
